"Franz Liszt and literature"

Franz Liszt (1811-1886) was one of the most exotic ones amongst musicians. The man that described himself as “half gypsy half Franciscan” was an extrovert that yearned a serene life.

In this contradictory personality, between the exhibitionist and the artist, the virtuous and the recluse, the hedonist and the abbot this explains why he and his music always polarizes public opinion.

In this concert, a brief biography of the composer is offered and a reading of texts is read of which the music was written on as well as examples of the piano.

The Black King, the piano.

In this educational concert for children, pianist Patricia Garcia Torres narrates in a pleasant and simple way why she fell in love with the piano, the importance of music and why the piano is the King of all instruments.

Interpreting masterpieces from great composers such as Bach, Ponce, Chopin and others, accompanied by videos, images and sound, the children listen to different styles of music and discover the importance and value of classical music. They get to know the instruments that accompany the piano and even get to direct and sing a chorus formed by them, accompanied by the piano and Mozart’s music.

It is a one and only concert of its genre where the most important thing is to awaken the children’s interest to classical music thru “The Black King”, the piano, and to discover that with it, they can express and feel all kinds of emotions and that dreams and wishes do come true.
